Aurora Rose Reynolds knows how to write about alpha males.  The Mason men are the hottest alpha males with their caveman gruffness and oh so sexy I’m going to cherish you to the day I die attitude!  And the women are feminine with steel cores.  HOT! HOT! HOT!

The Until Series began with the Mason brothers….Asher (http://amzn.to/1WMOZ3V) which is currently free at Amazon, Trevor (http://amzn.to/1s7SO7g), Cash (http://amzn.to/1Vh75du) and Nico (http://amzn.to/1Vh75du).  These men are scorching hot!  No one messes with their women…ever! This family is strong, sexy and so addictive.  The family prophecy is that each Mason male will find his soul mate and when he does it just hits him…..Boom!  When they do find those women there will never be another woman for them.

Next came the Until Her and Until Him series in which their children are now grown and burning up the sheets….I mean pages! The Mason prophecy has been thought to only follow the males but in the Until Her series the women are just as blindsided.  Aurora Rose seems to keep things interesting for her readers as she is so far altering her release dates between the Until Her and Until Him series.

In Until July, http://amzn.to/20xahRF, we have the story of Asher and November’s oldest daughter.  July has grown up to be a veterinarian and meets Wes Silver.  Wes is very much like Asher in attitude which July finds annoying and yet comforting. July and Wes have a unique way of meeting and from there the relationship just builds.  Until Jax, http://amzn.to/1sOzr3M, came next. Jax is very much like his father, Cash but more intense.  His attraction to Ellie proves to him that she is his boom, but he has a hard time convincing her of that.

Until June, http://amzn.to/1qHCI34, is another daughter of Asher and November’s.  This story is slightly different from the others as the threat to June and Evan is not an outside force but the demons that haunt Evan himself.  June and Evan met in Alabama and secretly married.  Soon after Evan enlisted in the Marines and was shipped to Afghanistan.  Upon his return home, June is shocked when she is served with divorce papers with no reason given.  With her heart shattered she moves home and begins attempts to put her life back in order, but fails miserably as Evan is who she wants.  When possible danger surrounds her, June is surprised that one of her cousin’s men is assigned to guard her and it is none other than Evan.  Evan must fight the beast inside him if he wants to save June and make her his again.  With her protective walls high, June is scared to trust and love Evan again because she doesn’t know if she can survive that kind of hurt once more.  Will they both risk everything for the chance to have it all?

Next up is Until Ashlyn, Cash and Lilly’s daughter as well as Sage, Nico and Sophie’s son.

Once you pick up one of these books you will be hooked and wanting more!  Aurora Rose is an extremely talented author who will draw you in until you have finished the story.  Once that happens you can’t wait for the next book to come out.

I recently purchased this book as a new release by Clare Connelly and I have already re-read it! If you enjoy Sheik Romances from Elizabeth Lennox and Leslie North, you are sure to enjoy Clare Connelly.  If you haven’t read her books I highly suggest them as she is a writer very much like both of those authors.

The Sheik’s Secret Baby is a contemporary romance that takes the reader from Manhattan, NY to the desert kingdom of Delani.  Abigail (Abi) McClean is studying Literature and History in college and works as a waitress at a high class restaurant.  At the age of 19 she never expected that her world would change in a matter of weeks, but it does beginning the day Sheik Kiral Mazoui walks into her life.  Three years later that new life is about to change again drastically.

Sheik Kiral Mazoui has just made an agreement for the benefit of his country when he encounters Abi and recognizes her as the other half of his soul.  In just a few short weeks the very agreement that was made for his country will shatter his own heart.  In just a few short weeks, he will tell Abi they are through and will walk away from her.

Three years later, Abi arrives in Delani just as Kiral is supposed to be marrying. Kiral, of course, believes she is there to thwart his marriage but she isn’t.  Abi has kept a secret from Kiral out of fear.  When he told her good bye three years earlier, neither knew that she was pregnant with their son.   Michael, their two year old son, is extremely ill and Abi needs money for his surgery.  She hopes that Kiral will help her.  Abi is shocked at Kiral’s anger and his treatment and prepares to leave Delani without Kiral never knowing about his son.

But fate has other plans for these two.  Kiral and Abi will do what is necessary to save their son.  But what are the costs?  Abi faces a life full of hate and punishment that Kiral has set her up for.  Will she be able to handle it?  Will Kiral see past his own pain to see what he is doing and what he may lose?

Journey to the desert to see if an age old tale of the first Sheik will come true to save Kiral, Abi, Michael and the people of Delani.

Clare Connelly writes of desert kings and the women they love and will fight all odds to possess.  Her women are compassionate but not weak for they stand up to the arrogance their men wield.

The Sheik’s Captured Princess (The Samara Royal Family #4) by Elizabeth Lennox

With Elizabeth Lennox’s focus on the sister’s on the Samara Family we find the series coming to an end.  In this book, The Sheik’s Captured Princess, we read the story of Ciala, the historian of the family.

I so enjoyed this book.  I found it fun that the author has created a family of three intimidating brothers who rule a country through various avenues of dealings and information, and yet NONE of them seem to truly know their younger sisters and what they are capable of.  Ciala is not only a beautiful woman who is educated but one who is poised and graceful.  However, unknown to her big brothers, she is trained in combat, skilled in subterfuge and exiles in escape tactics.

Ciala is secretly entering the country of Drakar in order to collect information on religious sites for her thesis.  Knowing that her brothers would never allow her to do this, she has taken on measures of disguising herself to travel as she needs with her interpreter. During one of these trips, Ciala finds herself in the middle of a rebel attack.  While trying to flee, she is detained by one of the most handsome men she has met and one who quickly subdues her.  Jurar doesn’t know if he is more disgusted by the little man he has taken prisoner or by his own men that were taken down before he arrived.  His men are supposed to be elite fighters!

The jail scene is one that would rival any Lara Croft movie with the quick thinking and escape shown by Ciala.  Jurar can’t help but be impressed even if he now must search out this rebel!  When he visits the neighboring country of Kilar, he never expected to find Ciala the beautiful sister of Sheik Ramzi.  He certainly didn’t expect to make the connection of Princess Ciala del Abass Samara and his rebel fighter to be one and the same.

Jurar finds a way to have Ciala sent to his home under the pretense of needing her expertise in history.  It doesn’t take him long to seduce her and from there he wants marriage.  But their life isn’t exactly smooth and the fun is just beginning as Ciala is determined to finish her research and Jurar isn’t convinced that she not a rebel.

Ms. Lennox is a master at creating these strong, passionate characters in both male and female that will keep you reading and wanting more at the end.  I enjoy these series that she is writing, and as always the stories set in the desert with kingdoms ruled by alphas with compassion are some of my favorites.  The Samara Royal Family series ends with the last sister, Shantra del  Abass Samara.

Books 9 and 10 in the Tarnished Saints Series by Elizabeth Rose

Loving John is the 9th book, in the Tarnished Saints series by Elizabeth Rose. I was first hooked on this series when I found Doubting Thomas a free book at Amazon. For me the task that the author has set for herself by writing of 12 different brothers in a series seems to be a bit daunting, but I admit that Elizabeth Rose seems to have accomplished it fabulously. The brother’s father was a non-denominational preacher who named his 12 sons after the apostle believing they would walk in his religious steps and mimic their namesakes. That isn’t what he got. Elizabeth Rose has given us 12 brothers who take deliberate steps to be as different from their father as they can possibly be. She has created a preacher who gambles, an ex-con, and a stripper to describe a few. Although good men in their own rights, they certainly have their flaws and do not mimic their namesakes at all.

In Loving John we have a man who loves his dogs and the freedom of the Alaskan terrain. Expecting to run the Iditarod race he is he isn’t happy to find himself moving home and without several of his team. He also wasn’t expecting to run into Dr. Bee when he got to Sweet Water.

Dr. Bee is divorced and trying to make a new life for her and her troublesome teenage son. She came to Sweet Water to begin her own practice and give her son a chance to start over. When she gets to Sweet Water instead she finds that gossip runs rampant and starting over for her and her son may not be that easy. She also didn’t expect to find John Taylor.

With gossip and jealousy mixed with a whole lot of misunderstanding, John and Dr. Bee aren’t sure how far to take their relationship, if that is even what they have. But don’t worry, Aunt Cappy is on the scene and will make sure everyone knows the truth! Got to love this character!

I really am enjoying this contemporary series of brothers by Elizabeth Rose. As I said earlier, I would have believed this to a very hard concept to make work, but I am finding Elizabeth Rose is doing a great job so that each of the brothers, their love interests and personalities are different so that each book is unique but with the the many characters making appearances in each. A very nice contemporary romance series.

Book 10, Playing Nate follows the easy contemporary romance of the previous books in this series. We have a brother who must marry in order to claim his inheritance. The difference of this book is that Nate finds himself falling for an older woman in a marriage of convenience….his convenience.

Nate owns a bar and has a band of his own but the financial obligations are overwhelming! When he meets Isabella he hates her! She is condescending and patronizing to him and he can’t stand her even if she is beautiful.

Isabella has had a bad marriage in the past filled with embarrassment and has no wishes to repeat that. She believes money can buy anything and is a very controlling woman with her daughter and Nate. Nate and Isabella have similar dreams with their music and the bar, but their animosity causes them problems.

With the Taylor family always around and babies everywhere, Isabella’s walls are slowly crumbling. Nate starts to see Isabella as she changes but will it be enough for him to want to stay with her?

There are only two more books left in this series. Igniting Andrew is next with Taming Thad being the last brother story to be told.

Counted With the Stars by Connilyn Cossette

counted with the stars

Other than Francine Rivers trilogy, The Mark of the Lion, I have not been drawn in to a Biblical historical fiction, as I have with Counted With the Stars, by Connilyn Cossette. When a writer weaves a story that makes me feel as if I am there with the characters, that I can imagine with vivid clarity the picture that the author is creating then I know I have a book that will remain with me long after the last page. When I have found a book that makes me think of my relationship with God because I see in these characters something that I wish I had and feel such a pull to find then I know I have found a writer,a book and a story that I will re-read many times over and will be in my thoughts for some time to come. Counted With the Stars is a story that fits all of this.

Kiya is a young Egyptian girl who is thrust into a world she had taken for granted all her life. When her father is financially destitute he sells her into slavery to a man she once considered a family friend, but will now serve his wife in defeat. Raised to worship the gods of Egypt she has no idea that the Hebrew God, Yahweh, has a plan for her that will take her from the lands of her birth, from her father and from the life she knows. When faced with slavery beneath those she considered her equals and living alongside those who where once beneath her, Kiya finds herself alone and not a part of either group. When a Hebrew slave girl, Shira befriends her, Kiya is exposed for the first time to Yahweh. Not ready to forsake her gods, Kiya is stricken with the same pain as the other Egyptians as Yahweh pours down his wrath with plague after plague. With the last plague set to fall upon them, Shefu, a man once her friend now her master, sets her on the path to follow the Hebrews while taking her Mother and handicapped brother with her. As she follows the Hebrews, she learns that she has been set upon this path not by Shefu but by the hand of Yahweh.

This amazing story will make you realize the power of God and how even in our lowest times, He will protect you, that he will love you and he will accept you. I love these characters and the journey they traveled. Shira’s story is due out in October and I am very excited to read it as well.

I truly recommend this book as one to read this year. It is a moving telling of those who experienced the Exodus in seeking their freedom from oppression and the ability to follow Yahweh. The story doesn’t focus on the kings or priests of Egypt, but that of the Hebrews and those Egyptians such as Kiya, her Mother Nailah, and her brother Jumo.

One of the last questions the author asks in her enclosed study guide is which characters you wish to know more about. My answer to that is see closure between Kiya and Shefu. Kiya found her answers with her Mother and Father, but there is a sadness that Shefu must live with and answers Kiya must know. This is of course my opinion, but my answer all the same to the author’s question.
